ANSI-ISA Workshop on Developing a Framework to

Analyze, Manage and Transfer Financial Risk for Cyber Security

In accordance with the Implementing the Recommendations of the 9/11 Commission Act of 2007 and the importance that the Act places on standards for supporting emergency preparedness and security efforts within the private sector, ANSI and the Internet Security Alliance (ISA) have launched a joint Workshop on cyber security, focused specifically on understanding and managing financial risk on an organizational level.  By providing such a framework tool to companies and organizations, the Workshop also has the role of supporting the national preparedness and security efforts of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Office of Cyber Security and Communications (CS&C).

Three meetings were held for this Workshop initiative (March, May and July of 2008).

The final Workshop framework document will be available for National Cyber Security Awareness Month in October 2008.  It will also be considered for a candidate for further development/evolution into a private sector voluntary consensus standard through an appropriate SDO.

Any questions on the status of this initiative should be directed to the ANSI-HSSP Secretary.
